EL CENTRO, Calif., Dec. 14, 2009 — In her new autobiography, “God Never Forsakes Me” (published by iUniverse), debut author Amelia Gong reveals the hardships she has endured and the triumphs she has seen as a result of her adoption by a loving Chinese family and the future Christian path she would eventually take because of the terrible atrocities she witnessed as a young girl.
When Communist soldiers invade Gong’s childhood home and drive her family to Hong Kong, where they would hopefully no longer suffer so many horrible mistreatments under Communist rule, this young woman decides to make the best of her future, working hard to receive a rounded high school education and eventually growing into an intelligent, determined teenager. She later migrates to the U.S. after she is married to her soul mate - a magical story that promises to warm the hearts of readers for years to come.
Armed with only her love of her almighty God, the strength of character that her parents instilled in her and a sense of humor that is bound to make fellow believers laugh out loud, Gong then ends up embarking on a journey that would see her navigating some major cultural shock and inevitably reconciling her past with her present. But because she is such a determined woman fueled by her Christian faith, she manages to make a life for herself and soon start a family of her own, free from oppression and finally able to fully express her loving spirit.
Her message of hope for future generations is clear when she addresses her daughter. As Gong herself writes, “I want my dearest daughter to … grasp the magnificence and faithfulness of my Savior. …I pray to God that my life has a positive impact on her… Throughout all the heavy storms and trials in my life, God has never forsaken nor forgotten me. He will never leave one of His own as orphans.”
In short, “God Never Forsakes Me” shows that “All things work together for good for those who love Him according to His purpose,” as she has quoted from Romans 8:28. Now, experience firsthand all of the jaw-dropping events, history and culture that would shape this profound woman’s future. Unlike other contemporary books that are filled with violence, immorality and corruption, this book is undoubtedly a triumph over tragedy and should be in every Christian’s home library collection.
