IDC Recognizes DVE Telepresence as a Major Player in Immersive Telepresence Videoconferencing

DVE now shares a major player role with Vidyo, Radvision and Huawei.

IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Digital Video Enterprises, Inc. (DVE) today announced that it has been elevated in the IDC MarketScape Report "European Immersive Telepresence Equipment 2012-2013 Vendor Analysis" from contender to major player (www.IDC.com). DVE now shares the title among major players Vidyo, Radvision and Huawei in this strategic geographic market.

IDC's research for the worldwide videoconferencing market identifies which vendors that are best positioned today with current capabilities and those best positioned to gain market share over the next few years.  Products of note were the DVE Huddle 70 for corporate wide telepresence rooms and the DVE immersion room that places life-size images of people in the 3D physical space of the room.  The report made specific mention of DVE's industry leading innovation, interoperability, and ability to integrate with numerous UC&C infrastructures. "DVE is pleased that IDC's in-depth industry analysis has revealed the merits of DVE telepresence solutions.  Our successful global deployments have proven our superior experience, affordability and cost saving support.  DVE transforms codec boxes from Cisco, Polycom, LifeSize and other vendors into real eye contact telepresence" according to Steve McNelley, Co-Founder of DVE.

DVE Telepresence has patented the method of aiming an HD camera through a TV image, allowing executives to make real eye contact while conferencing.  Expensive multi-screen conferencing rooms, similar to those promoted by Cisco and Polycom, have struggled to make market gains in recent years.  However, Executives are now discovering the distinction, and growing market segment, of DVE's single screen real eye contact solutions, while enjoying significant cost savings.  Hollywood studios, leading universities, the U.S. federal government, multinational investment firms, and the aerospace industry have all chosen DVE for their executive, creative, and engineering videoconference provider.  DVE has installations in over 20 countries and in Q1 2013 is deploying in Mainland China.
