About the Author
Enid Clarke Gaynor was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and attended Alpha Kindergarten School at the age of five.  At age eight, she attended Alpha Academy High School and successfully passed the Senior Cambridge Examination.  After graduating, she attended a secretarial school and was later employed at the Gleaner Company as a stenographer.

After a few years, she resigned and migrated to London, England, where she later married and raised a family.  She was employed as a stenographer in London with Western Union Telegraph Company and was later sponsored to the United States.  Western Union employed her as a confidential secretary to the Vice President of Operations, at the Downtown Manhattan Office, where she worked for 19 years.

In 1986, her husband was ready to retire and they decided to relocate to Florida.  She applied to Broward County Governmental Center and was employed as a secretary in the Engineering Department, where she worked for 15 years.  She retired in 2004.
