‘HAMZA: Strive for a Wiser Life’: Author Offers Accessible Introduction to Druze Faith in Story of Faith and Tradition

HOUSTON, Feb. 17, 2009 — Moustafa F. Moukarim offers another perspective on religion and faith for readers to consider in his new book, “HAMZA: Strive for a Wiser Life” (published by AuthorHouse). In his story, a very special boy is born one thousand years after the birth of Christ. His parents name him Hamza, which means “bright and energetic.” As Hamza grows up, he makes some important discoveries about the human mind and God.

Set in the Middle East during the 11th century, Moukarim goes into great detail about how Hamza recognizes the mind as the knowledge bank, which makes humans the center of creation. In reference to our mighty and just creator, Hamza concludes that God blessed us with His intelligence and also designated us to be the bearers of His message and custodians of all creation.

Hamza also pronounces that “religion should not be an implication or a suggestion; it is a reality and an understanding that should not be a burden. It is to emphasize the faithful dedication of the mind.” As for the mind, he describes it as having unparalleled power and energy and also as being incorruptible. It’s not only as good as its creator, but it will ultimately serve as our savior.

According to Hamza, the mind is incorruptible and possesses unparalleled power and energy. Not only is the mind as good as its creator, but it will also serve as mankind’s savior. “HAMZA” discusses the Five Principals, the Seven Commandments, belief, reincarnation and faith; the relation between the mind, the soul and the body as the ultimate trinity; and much more about Hamza’s customs and teachings.

A brief introduction to the Druze faith and its main architect, Hamza, Moukarim touches on some of the religion’s general concepts and traditions. “HAMZA: Strive for a Wiser Life” is not intended to be taken as a reference, since it is written in the form of a story. “I am very knowledgeable of the religions and cultures of the Middle Eastern countries and people,” explains Moukarim.
