New ‘Green’ Annual Report Replaces Stale, Printed Corporate Reports

New technology allows companies to offer an interactive and engaging, environmentally friendly annual corporate report while cutting distribution cost by up to 75%

OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 18, 2009 — Progressive, technology-oriented and environmentally friendly companies have a new option for distributing their annual reports, required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), to shareholders.

A new Oklahoma-based company, Green Wise Report, has developed an innovative technology for corporate reporting that is green and cuts distribution costs by up to 75% compared to the typical printed report. The green report uses no harvested paper and is distributed on recyclable compact discs. It offers readers a new level of interactivity while cutting production and mailing costs significantly.

Green Wise Report CEO Eric Smith explains the idea behind the development of the product. “The ‘report’ was specifically developed to answer the need for a more interactive and innovative alternative to the stale corporate report that has been an SEC requirement since 1933. Advancements in digital technology and recent SEC guideline changes have paved the way to a friendlier, greener and less expensive corporate report that is also more engaging for the reader.”

Smith says the annual report is one of the most important pieces of communication a share-holder receives and the new SEC-approved digital medium means environmentally friendly companies can utilize a report that emphasizes their focus on being green. Applications for sales materials, corporate responsibility reports, sales training and other areas where an engaging yet cost effective “report” is required are also realized.

Green Wise Report uses video, audio, animated graphics and code technology to offer a report that is superior to print in every way. The Green Wise Report contains an actual video introduction from the CEO rather than the standard written message and includes motion-based interactive graphs and charts. The Green Wise Report can be narrated by a host of professional voice artists, even famous actors such as George Clooney, Morgan Freeman, Richard Dreyfus, or Powers Booth.

The technology behind the product is made possible by a process that allows the entire digital report to be distributed via a compact disc that can be viewed without the need for an Internet connection or special players. The CD content looks just like a book on the computer screen complete with turning pages. Smith says that although the digital “book-look” technology has been available for some time, the extent to which Green Wise Report has taken the technology is leaps above anything else available today. Green Wise Report is the only company with the in-house capability to offer this technology to this extent and designed especially for corporate reporting.
