SAN ANTONIO and LAREDO, Texas, Oct. 10, 2008 — Eight FaithWalkers walked 140 miles from San Antonio to Laredo, Texas and are scheduled to arrive today in Laredo at the Plaza of San Agustin, approx. 11:00 A.M.
Grace Community Church Pastor Nacho Pecina states, “This is a symbolic walk asking God to help us with our border crisis. We do not want to build a wall from Mexico, but a bridge to God.”
“Walking all these miles convinces me that America is struggling and needs to turn back to God. At one time in the history of the United States our forefathers had faith in God; today we have lost it,” says Pecina.
“Now is the time to turn back to God; now is the time to confess our wrong and ask God to start the process of healing our two nations,” continues Pecina.
The eight FaithWalkers will meet at the Plaza at 11:00 A.M. for prayer before leaving back to San Antonio, Texas.
“This has been a spiritual journey, an experience of trusting God for a walk of faith that will last a lifetime,” Pecina concludes.
