Evolve Bank & Trust Names Lewis E. Holland to its Board of Directors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Feb. 19, 2010 — The Memphis-based holding company Evolve Financial Group, Inc., recently named Lewis E. Holland to its board of directors of Evolve Bank & Trust.

"Lewis Holland's entrepreneurial spirit and keen understanding of finance have shaped his career," said B. Scot Lenoir, chairman of Evolve Financial Group, Inc. "His experience and insight make him the ideal addition to our bank board of directors — a group of leaders that have helped us achieve a 68 percent annual revenue growth in 2009 — even in these challenging economic times."

In 2009, Evolve Bank & Trust posted total asset growth of 23 percent and net income growth of 33 percent.

Holland's financial career has spanned from investment and commercial banking to public accounting and real estate development. Holland served six years as president of UMIC, Inc., a former Memphis-based regional investment banking firm, helping to grow that company into one of the 100 largest securities firms nationwide. After its sale in 1988, he became a partner with the Memphis office of Ernst & Young, LLP, where he headed the firm's financial services and served as director of audits.

In 1994, Holland joined the former National Commerce Financial Corporation where he spent seven years serving as president of Financial Enterprise businesses, as well as vice chairman, chief financial officer and treasurer of the parent corporation. Holland's responsibilities included the direct management of non-banking businesses including broker/dealer activities, investment advisory services, fuel-related electronic payment systems, and retail in-store-banking consulting and installations.

Prior to his retirement in 2009, Holland served as president and chief operating officer of Henry Turley Company in Memphis where he helped launch Uptown, River Inn of Harbor Town and several condominiums.

"Lewis' depth and breadth of financial experience are invaluable to us as we implement our strategy while maintaining Evolve's growth and profitability," said W. Scott Stafford, president and chief executive officer of Evolve Bank & Trust.

Currently, Holland serves as a member of the board of directors of Buckeye Technologies Inc., and as a director of Morgan Keegan Financial Products and USI Alliance. He was active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Memphis Chapter of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, the United Way of the Mid-South, and the Memphis Orchestral Society. He is a current board member of ArtsMemphis. A graduate of Mississippi State University with degrees in accounting, banking and finance, Holland is a Securities Industry Institute graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
