New England College Launches Liberal Studies and Business Administration Degrees 100% Online

NEC's undergraduate degrees online help students gain skills and credentials for tomorrow's economy

HENNIKER, N.H., June 6, 2012 — The creative and supportive learning environment New England College (NEC) has provided for more than half a century is now accessible anywhere. With the launch of six undergraduate degrees 100% online, students can earn their AA in Liberal Studies, AA in Business Administration or one of four BA in Business Administration degrees from the regionally accredited private college without ever stepping foot on campus.

With competitive tuition and seven-week classes offered seven times per year, NEC's online undergraduate degree programs let students graduate faster and save money. Students can earn their associate's degree in as few as 16 months. Or they can pursue a BA in Business Administration in one of four specializations – Accounting, Computer Science, Management or Marketing – and complete their degree in as few as 28 months.

"New England College is the perfect choice for individuals at all stages of their educational pursuits," said Diane Raymond, NEC's Dean of Admission. "Whether students are just starting out or starting over, whether they breeze through coursework or need a little extra attention, they will benefit from our friendly, nurturing college community. Our instructors provide the insight, motivation and individual attention students need to complete their degrees and prepare for the competitive job market."

NEC's core liberal studies curriculum is designed to help students create and refine skills that employers value, while discipline-focused courses build specific career expertise. Students become better communicators, team players and problem solvers. They also learn to embrace differences and confidently adapt to change – essential attributes in today's evolving marketplace.

Video-based e-learning, powered by University Alliance technology, lets students take classes anytime, anywhere. Through an engaging virtual classroom, students can interact with professors and peers through live chat, discussion boards and email, plus watch video lectures streaming online or download them to mobile devices. With 24/7 access to classes and no mandatory log-in times, students can complete their undergraduate majors – and earn the same degree as campus-based students – without compromising personal and professional commitments.

"Online degrees are not created equally. Earning yours from a regionally accredited, traditional college can make a significant difference in what you learn and how you learn," said Raymond. "Launching these programs with University Alliance ensures that the academic excellence and student-first approach we're known for will be exemplified online."

From NEC's straightforward admissions process – which considers individual accomplishments and goals over standardized testing – to collaborative virtual classrooms, students will experience personalized attention and a support system that promotes their success.

Applications for admission to NEC's online undergraduate degree programs are now available for a Fall I session start date. There is no application fee and no SAT or ACT required. Prospective students are encouraged to ask about NEC's special military rates, liberal transfer credit policy and degree completion programs. Financial aid options are available, and a 2011-2012 study by NEC's Student Financial Services office found that 91% of students who apply, qualify for some form of financial aid.
