The DOE estimates that there are 500 million recessed can light fixtures in US homes, with 20 million more added every year. 1 While recessed can light fixtures are attractive to most homeowners, they create energy efficiency challenges as well as potential safety issues. CanCoverIt was designed to address both of these concerns.

CanCoverIt is a uniquely shaped cover fabricated from FSK-faced fiberglass wallboard. The cover is collapsible and is shipped and stored flat. The cover is popped open by hand with no assembly required. Using a simple utility knife, a few slits are made in the bottom to accommodate the rails of the can light and the wire and the cover is ready to be put in place. Spray foam or caulk can be applied around the base of the cover to seal it to the attic floor. The entire process takes seconds.
