DENVER, April 16, 2009 — In celebration of Earth Day, Learn Share Act is officially launching its free blogging social network to connect people who share a passion for a cleaner, sustainable, peaceful and brighter future. Located on the web at http://www.learnshareact.com, Learn Share Act provides an open podium for members to share their ideas on responsible living and offers interactive features for exchanging messages and making new friends.
Learn Share Act is similar to Facebook and MySpace in that members can create and customize their personal profile page, write blogs and message other members. Differentiating itself, Learn Share Act provides a wide range of topical information, from educational materials about climate change to common sense tips on green living, recycling, organic farming and foods, green business ideas, clean energy, positive thinking and more.
Membership in Learn Share Act is free. The site has a very positive feel about it and it is very easy to use. With just a few clicks members can create their own profile, interact with other members and share information about what matters most to them.
“The founder of Earth Day learned about a problem, shared his concerns with others and then acted. Expanding on that idea, the founders of Learn Share Act leveraged the power of the Internet to create a modern interactive platform for people interested in making the world a better, greener, and more peaceful place in which to live,” said Mark Erickson, one of four co-founders of Learn Share Act. “We hope, this year, concerned people will celebrate Earth Day by joining us at learnshareact.com in becoming part of today’s environmental solution, because when we share our ideas and work together, we can positively affect our world.”
Legislated by Congress, the first Earth Day was celebrated 39 years ago, with 20 million participants in 1970. Today, from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle on the West Coast, to Denver, Austin and Chicago in the Midwest, and to New York, Boston and Atlanta on the East Coast and now stretching to Bangkok, Beijing, Manila, Tokyo and Buenos Aires, Earth Day has grown into a monumental event with an estimated 750 million participants worldwide.
