Test engineering firm taps state, local resources to meet updated quality standard
NEW BERLIN, Wis., March 26, 2009 — With the assistance of a consultant from Waukesha County Technical College and a training grant from the State of Wisconsin, leading test and automation engineering firm Digalog Systems Inc. (http://www.digalogsystems.com) has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification. The company’s ISO 9001:2008 certificate was awarded by American Management Technology, Inc., an ANAB accredited registrar.
“The on-site consultant we contracted through WCTC helped guide us through the certification process,” stated Kittye Amen, vice president of Digalog Systems Inc. “This gave us a level of confidence and experienced insight into the intent of the standard. In addition, the training grant from the State of Wisconsin helped offset our additional costs.”
In all five of its core business areas — test engineering, automation engineering, test system and test component design, test system integration and assembly, and test support — Digalog has demonstrated compliance with the updated standards for quality management systems set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). That means Digalog’s clients in the medical, automotive, industrial, electrical power distribution, and audio and radio frequency products industries can feel confident in the firm’s engineering and test processes. Digalog is one of only a few test and automation engineering firms to be ISO 9001:2008 certified.
Digalog further sets itself apart from competitors through its design and manufacturing capabilities, which it uses to engineer custom test solutions to supplement commercial off-the-shelf instrumentation. Thanks to its relationships with major instrumentation manufacturers, including National Instruments, Agilent Technologies and GeoTest, Digalog is able to stay on top of new technologies and deploy solutions quickly through a variety of programming platforms.
Richard Wagner, president of Digalog, attributes much of the corporation’s success at becoming ISO 9001:2008 certified to its employees.
“A critical step in the certification process was putting together a steering committee that represented each department of Digalog for a uniform commitment to, and involvement in, the task,” Wagner concluded. “As the project took shape, all of Digalog’s employees became involved. It is through this outstanding teamwork that we have achieved the success of ISO 9001:2008 certification.”
