Delta Point Strengthens Management and Expands Consultancy Services with Addition of Former AstraZeneca Executive Michael Hickey

MALVERN, Pa., March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Michael Hickey, former Vice President of US Sales at AstraZeneca and former President of AstraZeneca, Netherlands has recently joined Delta Point, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Global Leadership Development. Michael Hickey graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Pharmacy, an MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and an MBA.  He also completed residential advanced management programs in strategic marketing in Harvard University and the AMP in INSEAD, France.

Michael Hickey has a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical business having worked in the industry for 30 years in many and varied functions such as production, clinical research, marketing, sales and senior management in the US, Canada and a number of European countries.

During his time as VP Sales in the US, he successfully led the successful launch of megabrands such as Crestor, Seroquel and Nexium and also a number of oncology brands.  His innovative and creative approach led to the introduction of a new AZ selling model in the US and also in the Netherlands and to the introduction of a comprehensive SFE (Sales Force Effectiveness) program in the US which was later adopted worldwide.   Following his time with AZ, Michael became President of IBA Molecular, North America, a leading radiopharmaceutical company.
