Crutchfield Dermatology Welcomes Perlane, the Latest Tool in the War Against Facial Wrinkles and Facial Scars

EAGAN, Minn., May 24, 2007 — Great news for those who want their skin to look their best – Crutchfield Dermatology (Eagan, Minnesota) announces that the Food and Drug Administration has approved Perlane, new hyaluronic acid wrinkle filler, for use in the United States. Perlane is a variation of the gold-standard hyaluronic acid Restylane, which was approved for the filling of wrinkles three years ago in the United States.

"We are really thrilled to have Perlane available to us in the United States. It has been available throughout the world since the year 2000, and when I initially did some training in Canada, I used Perlane with great success. The difference between Perlane and Restylane is Perlane is a similar yet larger molecule than Restylane, which allows it to fill up more volume. It is good for deeper lines in the face, such as the lines that run from the nose to the corner of the mouth, and other areas that need more extensive filling. Because the molecule is larger, it should last a bit longer, too. I am really excited about all the new products for cosmetic dermatology that are entering the marketplace, and Perlane, with such a solid and successful track record against both wrinkles and scars, will be welcomed in the United States by dermatologists and patients alike. Building on our experience and superlative results with Restylane, our office started using Perlane this week and we've already had tremendous successes. When people come to me for facial rejuvenation, I tell them that I don't want to treat people to look younger than their age; I just want them to look the very best that they can for their age. I want their friends to be 'enviously confused' about the successful procedures that they had done in our clinic. "
