Crutchfield Dermatology Reports Continued Success with the New LipoDissolve Ultra: a Superior Improvement on Standard LipoDissolve Treatments

EAGAN, Minn., March 15, 2007 — LipoDissolve is a minimally invasive medical procedure that breaks down fat cells in specific areas of the body. Small amounts of lecithin, a soybean extract (commonly used as an emulsifying agent in chocolate bars), are injected into unwanted areas of fat such as the tummy, love handles, double chins and saddle bags. This will cause the fat cells to dissolve and the body's natural cleansing system metabolizes and eliminates the waste products out of the system.

The technique has become increasingly popular in the United States over recent years. LipoDissolve is a specific type of treatment known generally as "Mesotherapy" that was first developed in France in the 1950's. Crutchfield Dermatology reports a new and improved advancement in the standard LipoDissolve treatment protocol where ultrasound massage is used both before and after LipoDissolve treatments for much better results. This is called "LipoDissolve Ultra."

"LipoDissolve Ultra is like liposuction without surgery," comments Charles E. Crutchfield III, MD, associate professor of dermatology at the University of Minnesota Medical School and medical director of Crutchfield Dermatology in Eagan, Minnesota. "The FDA has not officially approved this treatment but it is currently under investigation. I employ this formula on unwanted areas of fat, especially those that have not responded to diet and exercise. For the reduction of unwanted fat, the success rate approaches 90%."

"I have developed a new protocol that employs ultrasound massage both before and after the LipoDissolve treatments. Some LipoDissolve practitioners use ultrasound before, some after, and some not at all. We are the first to report employing ultrasound massage both before and after LipoDissolve treatments. When ultrasound is used before, it make the adipose tissue more receptive the treatments, and when ultrasound is used after the treatments, it makes sure that the solution is distributed evenly, reduces post-treatment edema, and increases patient comfort. The downside is that by using the ultrasound before and after, it greatly increases the time required for a treatment, but our new protocol, LipoDissolve Ultra, is producing superior results compared to the traditional LipoDissolve and Mesotherapy treatments," comments Dr. Crutchfield.

"LipoDissolve Ultra can be used in conjunction with liposuction for better body contouring. It can also be a good way of 'touching up' unevenly treated areas after having a liposuction procedure. LipoDissolve Ultra is a terrific treatment for localized areas of unwanted fat. Similar to liposuction, it is not a substitute for diet, exercise and overall weight reduction. The results can be very, very impressive."
