Crutchfield Dermatology of Minnesota Now Offers Selphyl, a New and Natural Wrinkle Treatment Tool

ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 9, 2010 — Selphyl is the newest wrinkle-fighting treatment to be offered by Minnesota Board Certified Dermatologist Charles E. Crutchfield III, M.D. (http://www.CrutchfieldDermatology.com). A small amount of a patient's own blood is taken and the platelet and growth factor rich portion is obtained. About a teaspoon of this material is injected back into the patient's skin. At the site, special skin cells divide and other cells produce collagen, filling in wrinkles. It really is quite remarkable. It is all natural. Dr. Crutchfield tells his patients, "It's just you, helping you."

Dr. Crutchfield states, "The process has been used in sports medicine for joint injuries for about a decade. It was only a matter of time before trying the same procedure to treat and rejuvenate skin. Results start to be seen in 2-4 weeks, with a maximum result seen at about 12-14 weeks. It is not as fast as Restylane, Juvederm, Dysport or Botox treatments, but the results can last up to 2 years. The procedure is F.D.A. Approved.

"Selphyl is also popular because it is fast; about 30 minutes for a complete treatment. Once the treatment is over, there is no downtime and my patients are able to return to their normal activities. Selphyl is a terrific new and natural wrinkle treatment. Not only does it act to fill in wrinkles, as an added bonus, I've seen the skin in my patients looks much younger and fresher. I've had several patients tell me that their husbands noticed this unexpected effect first," comments Dr. Crutchfield.

"As a board-certified dermatologist with years of experience, I've seen many new treatment ideas and I've found that Selphyl is a true medical advance," adds Dr. Crutchfield. "With the increasing set of very effective skin rejuvenation tools, this is an exciting time for my patients, and it really is possible to achieve your cosmetic goals through non-surgical methods."
