GREAT NECK, N.Y., June 23, 2009 — The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT(R)) announced today that Criterions Software is a CCHIT Certified(R) 08 Ambulatory EHR, and meets 100% of 2008 criteria.
The CCHIT Certified(R) “seal of approval” for EHR products provides a consensus-based, government-recognized benchmark for ambulatory EHR products. By looking to products with the CCHIT Certified(R) seal, physicians and other providers can reduce their risk in selecting an EHR product, allowing them to focus their evaluation on the special needs of their practice.

CCHIT is now in its fourth year of operation. The criteria and testing have been updated annually to provide physicians with more assurance that certified products will meet their needs for functionality, interoperability and security. The HITECH act of 2009 allows physicians to receive incentive funding for the use of an EHR, provided they are able to prove usage of certified EHR and demonstrate meaningful use of the technology. A CCHIT Certified(R) 08 Ambulatory EHR must provide:

- Continuity of Care Document (CCD) importing and exporting to transfer patient data from the Criterions EHR to other systems
- Immunization tracking and reporting
- Ability to import images or direct links to DICOM images to a PACS; the PACS can be external to the provider’s organization
- Integrated lab results from electronic retrieval and internal entry including trending with discrete results, using standards like LOINC
- Access to external documentation and patient education materials
