CHICAGO, June 8, 2009 — Disillusioned after a failed relationship, Dana spends her days working in the Federal Courthouse in Chicago, all the while dreaming of a home and family of her own. When a gorgeous Italian comes on the scene, her focus soon shifts to flirting with the handsome stranger. This interaction sets the scene for “Courting Desire” by Aurora North, available from AuthorHouse.
Gianni, successful, older and from a world far more sophisticated than Dana’s, catches her off guard. Usually confident with the opposite sex, Dana finds herself flustered and timid around the suave man. At first their interactions are limited to verbal sparring; Dana is put off by his forward advances and friendly gibes. Despite this, she finds herself thinking of him nonstop; Dana soon realizes she can no longer ignore the passion Gianni ignites.
“Gianni was waiting by her office door. Thankfully on a Friday evening everyone left as early as possible and no one lingered in the hallways. Dana wanted to keep Gianni all to herself, not even share an elevator ride with associates in the building. She was glad for the emptiness of the building. So many Friday nights when she left it had seemed cold, sad, but tonight it was magical, their own world, vast, empty, just the two of them, embarking on, on — well, at the very least, an evening out.”
It isn’t long before they find themselves falling hard and fast — but the universe seems to have other plans. Separated by distance and lifestyle and confused by mixed messages, Dana wonders if Gianni’s intentions are true after all. Through the help of her best friend Margie, Dana devises a plan to see if love really can win in the end.
Follow Dana and Gianni along their road from desire to love, with heart-wrenching and humorous turns along the way.
