Composer Selections Announced for Upcoming Music and Arts Event in L.A.

Mirrors of the Soul Announces Composer Selections

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1, 2010 — The producers of the L.A.-based Mirrors of the Soul have officially announced the winning compositions on their upcoming program. The selected pieces, culled from more than 150 submissions by composers from around the world, will be presented by a live orchestra on March 26 and 27, 2010 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, CA. The selected composers were solicited through announcements via the American Composers Forum (http://www.composersforum.org).

The composers and their works:

  • Brynjar Boe – Nostalgia
  • Jenni Brandon – In the City at Night, Goldfish Songs
  • Ehud Freedman – Andante Scuro
  • Anthony Green – Chance
  • Stephen Main – Pie Jesu
  • Allan Menton – Hedgehog Hustle
  • Alla Pavlova – Monolog
  • John Synder – Sarabande

Each work is complemented by poetic or evocative spoken word elements with artwork drawn from Los Angeles-area artists.
