The power of storytelling is celebrated in varied collection of vivid tales
LONDON, April 21, 2009 — Life is a road in which one can travel, but we must note all the wonderful things that surround us, and use our gift of “imagination.” By using our experiences and imagination, there is no limit to what we can dream of in earth or in heaven.
This philosophy is the basis for “A Collection of Fables and Tales — A Compendium of Short Stories” (published by iUniverse), in which the travels and imagination of Darryl Gopaul show there is both a story and a history behind each pair of eyes, such as joy, sadness, discomfiture, loneliness, anxiety, while some eyes portray empathy, support shock and others show meanness, distrust and cruelty. “When one adds imagination to these observations, then there is an explosive combination of emotions and mystery that can only be expressed in stories,” Gopaul said. “A Collection of Fables and Tales — A Compendium of Short Stories” includes Gopaul’s delightful tales of things such as a lonely old man, a writer continually interrupted by ravens, the plight of wild little animals fending for their young, a simple love story set in Italy, a futuristic world of space flight, a collection of anecdotes from the author’s move to Canada, and numerous others. Gopaul’s tales are happy and truthful in the study of the basic human fears of loneliness, joy and happiness.
About the Author
From an early age, Darryl Gopaul’s imagination would allow him to be inattentive at school and get into trouble with his teachers, but it has kept him happy whether he is alone, working as a scientist or in the midst of a lecture, convention or at functions of both a pleasurable and serious nature. For this reason his short stories were weaved by listening to travelers from abroad in different cultures. A successful medical microbiologist with a PhD and an MBA, he still consults in Human Resources and Business Management. Gopaul left work early to write books. He is married with two daughters and lives in a quiet university town in North America. This is his sixth book.
