How Collaboration Created Success for New Author

CHICAGO, Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Today it seems everyone is writing a book. As the cost of publishing drops, a book has become the new business card. With the dramatic increase in books on almost every subject you could imagine, it has become harder for an author to get noticed.

Melissa G. Wilson, owner of Networlding Publishing, Inc., faced that dilemma when introduced to Peter Greenlaw of Denver. Greenlaw had just completed his first book Why Diets are Failing Us.

To gain the justified recognition for her new client, Wilson assembled a team of trusted experts in the fields of public and media relations, marketing and branding and social media. The final pieces of the team came together on June 1, 2013.

Wilson, along with her duties as project manager and lead strategist, took control of Greenlaw's blog, Facebook and Twitter pages and management of Peter's video content. In addition, she worked closely with Greenlaw in his creation of, and oversaw the editing of, two new books – TDOS Syndrome and TDOS Protocol.

Ian Miller, who had a national reputation through his firm The Brand Practice and worked with Ogilvy & Mather, took on the challenge of branding Greenlaw.

Spencer Maus, of SpencerConnect Communications, managed public and media relations and LinkedIn and Twitter.

Steve Dewitt, SEO expert and website programmer, was later added to the team to design and maintain a new website (www.petergreenlaw.com). In addition he was tasked with continual development of both YouTube and iTunes channels.

The Results:

Greenlaw garnered his own TV show, The New Health Conversation, on a community access network in Denver. His show will move and premiere on the Rocky Mountain PBS station November 17, 2013. Rocky Mountain PBS is seen in four states.

Greenlaw has also appeared on The Experience Pros radio show syndicated in four states, ESPN's The Blitz in Colorado Springs, Colorado, WDNC's The Buzz in Durham, North Carolina, Taylor Baldwin Show on U-T television in San Diego, and will soon be interviewed by a local television show in Newark, New Jersey, and was quoted in Well Being Journal. A targeted media blitz in New York City will be launched on November 11, 2013.

Greenlaw has continued his speaking tour in various parts of the country. Upcoming speaking events include the CEO Club of NYC on December 5, 2013, and tentatively the CEO Clubs of Texas in Dallas, Texas. A campaign to increase his speaking opportunities was launched on October 15, 2013, and has garnered indications of interest to keynote three conferences.

Currently, the website is seeing strong visitor growth of 5% monthly, with social media platforms including YouTube and Facebook averaging growth of 30% monthly.

Greenlaw has become active on LinkedIn. A very targeted campaign increased his contacts from seven to 593. He has also joined 20 groups, where he regularly contributes to the discussion.

He also became very active on both Facebook and Twitter. These sites have allowed Greenlaw to connect to both current fans and to meet other influencers in his target markets. Plans call for adding Pinterest and Google+ to his social media portfolio at the turn of the year.

Peter Greenlaw stated, "The Networlding team brought me farther than I could have imagined in a speed that still leaves my head spinning."

"We're really pleased by the results of our collaboration. From a quality standpoint we have seen significant results with influential media placement and to me that will only get better from here as one top media replacement can lead to many more," said Wilson.
