Church Elder Probes Issue of Hypocrisy Within Christian Church

His Book Shares His Passion for Holiness and How it Can Be Obtained By All Christians

WAIPAHU, Hawaii, Aug. 18, 2009 — “Holiness: Can the Church Do This or Not? And if the Church Can, How Come it Seems so Many In the Church Aren’t Doing It?” (published by iUniverse) by author and church elder, Joseph Bachota Jr. probes the question of why so many Christians are living in sin and shares how they can begin to examine their lives and find the true path to holiness through faith in Jesus Christ.

Frustrated by the large number of Christians living hypocritical lives, Bachota was inspired to write his book in order to compel Christians to look at their relationship with God and give them the motivation to change those areas in their lives that are drawing them away from Him. Through “Holiness,” Bachota hopes to bring awareness to holiness and how it relates to the different levels of spiritual maturity.

In a conversational and easy-to-follow manner, “Holiness” takes readers step-by-step through:

  • A close look at the meaning of holiness
  • Being the righteousness of God
  • Walking in your God-given dominion
  • The significance of calling God “Abba”
  • Jesus and Peter walking on water as it correlates to holiness
  • Holiness in single and married life
  • Virginity and the call to purity

“Holiness is our reasonable service! We should not be patting people on the back for doing something God Himself expects us to do,” states Bachota. “So many people are not doing it that when we see it, we are surprised. It’s time for the church to rise up and be the salt and light on the earth instead of trying to  act like the world.”

To assist readers in their effort to examine their own lives, Bachota asks questions throughout the chapters and provides Biblical scripture for deeper meditation. Using the Bible and his own experience as the foundation for the book, “Holiness” urges the church to return to spiritual maturity and for Christians to hold themselves to the higher standard in which God called them.
