MIAMI, July 21, 2009 — Chelsea Design Inc. owners Regina Agro and Samantha Melvin welcome Meredith Paslawsky to the “most successful women-owned and operated design firm in the South Florida market,” according to the American Academy of Interior Designers (AAID). Paslawsky will be joining the Miami Design District corporate office as Director of Business Development for the firm’s Commercial Design Division. Paslawsky’s responsibilities will include daily management of all commercial sales and marketing activities involved with the firm’s restaurant, nightlife, and hotel projects.
Paslawsky brings many years of industry experience to the firm. She has previously held the position of Communications Director of Nightlife Brokerage, NYC and the Hampton’s premiere real estate firm specializing in more sales and leases of nightlife venues than any Manhattan firm combined. “Meredith has a firm understanding of the needs and desires of commercial hospitality and nightlife businesses. She has an irreplaceable sense of what these businesses need to thrive in a competitive arena during a poor economic climate. We are so pleased that her knowledge and insight can further assist in the development of our firm offering our clients a turn-key design and build solution,” states owner Regina Agro.
Owners Regina Agro and Samantha Melvin have been completing residential and commercial projects throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean for over a decade. They remain dedicated to adapting to their clients’ needs during the changing times. Projects are always “value-engineered” to allow clients to choose more cost-effective options without sacrificing the high-end style and integrity of their original vision. In addition, Paslawsky’s previous experience in the nightlife and restaurant industry will prove invaluable to clients that may want the additional marketing and communications support the firm provides at no extra cost for all commercial projects.
Chelsea Design’s decision to expand their commercial division could not have come at a better time. The Miami hospitality industry is constantly competing to maintain its relevance in a fickle market. Residents and tourists can be seen huddled on the sidewalks every night, awaiting entry into Miami’s most exclusive nightspots. This is a clear indication that these businesses have extraordinary potential even in the midst of the current economic climate. However, patrons want to be impressed with exquisite decor and service. “We offer our commercial hospitality clients a unique approach to creating and keeping their business relevant. Not only do we give them a gorgeous viable and unique design, but we also explore their business model, supervise design/build budgets, value-engineer projects, initiate marketing and promotion events to give them an extra boost in the marketplace,” states Melvin.
