Cemtrex Sees Business Opportunities from EPA Ruling on Sulfur Dioxide

FARMINGDALE, N.Y., June 14, 2010 — Cemtrex Inc. (OTC: CTEI) is optimistic about business opportunities resulting from the recent Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) ruling that sets the one-hour SO2 health standard at 75 parts per billion (ppb), down from the current standard of 140 ppb, a level designed to protect against short-term exposures ranging from five minutes to 24 hours. It is the first time that the standard has been tightened since the original limit was introduced back in 1971.

The EPA is also changing the monitoring requirements for SO2 and is requiring more monitoring in those areas that have the highest levels of SO2 pollution. The new requirements assure that monitors will be placed where SO2 emissions impact populated areas. Any new monitors required by this rule must begin operating no later than Jan. 1, 2013. A separate ruling for the electric power industry will soon be announced.

"This EPA ruling shall result in higher sales of our advanced sulfur dioxide analyzers in the coming months," said Mr. Ravi Narayan, Vice President of Cemtrex Inc. "We expect to capitalize on this, with our installed base of over 500 opacity monitors in the power industry."
