Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Title IX with ATIXA at Its National Conference in June

MALVERN, Pa., May 4, 2012 — The Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA, www.atixa.org) is pleased to announce that its Inaugural National Conference will be held June 23rd-24th, 2012 in Chicago, IL at the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel.

Please register today and join other administrators who coordinate Title IX compliance at K-12 schools and post-secondary institutions all over the United States to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the enactment of Title IX. In addition, participants will have an opportunity to connect with a roster of twenty-five invited presenters who will offer you the most engaging and expertise-filled conference possible.

This two-day conference will offer critical insights and information to college, university and K-12 administrators who strive to promote gender equity in education through athletics, policy/procedure development, investigations, preventative educational programming, sexual harassment prevention and more. Title IX Coordinators, law enforcement personnel, human resources staff, student affairs administrators, legal counsel and prevention educators will find valuable content through featured sessions, panel discussions, concurrent sessions, roundtables and opportunities for networking.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX, all conference attendees are invited to a gala champagne celebration, and will receive a commemorative Title IX pin. In addition, Bernice Sandler — the godmother of Title IX — will offer a special historical retrospective on the beginnings of Title IX and the 40-year journey toward gender equity in education.

Throughout the conference, participants will learn about critical issues, national trends and best practices from a roster of featured speakers and presenters who are among the nation's foremost Title IX law and policy experts and most influential leaders in the field. Participants will gain an increased understanding of the current and historical context of gender equity in K-12 and post-secondary educational environments, as well as an overview of the relevant current challenges that school districts and campuses face today. Further, participants will engage with others to explore gender equity, philosophical approaches, practical techniques and leading practices.

Please join us in Chicago as we celebrate this momentous occasion. The Renaissance Blackstone Hotel, housed in an elegantly restored French Beaux-Arts structure and labeled as one of the finest downtown Chicago hotels, will serve as host to the conference. The Blackstone offers luxury accommodations and a renowned sense of history and showcases over 1,400 pieces of original local artwork. Participants who wish to extend their stay to enjoy the city of Chicago during one of its most beautiful months can get the group rate for additional nights.

With the accessible location of Chicago, the quality and depth of the expertise and content of information and the beauty of the hotel and surrounding area, this two-day conference will be an unparalleled professional development opportunity commemorating 40 years of the pursuit of gender equity in education. Your attendance offers you the opportunity to bring back both theoretical concepts and practical applications to your campus, school district or organization.
