Capitol Insurance Companies Introduces Capitol Express for Surety Online, Anytime

MIDDLETON, Wis., Dec. 11, 2008 — Capitol Insurance Companies (Capitol) is pleased to announce the launch of their new online surety bond system, Capitol Express (CapEx), which allows appointed insurance agents and brokers to rate, issue and service their surety bonds online in an easy and convenient manner.

With the release of this new online system, registered Capitol Express users will have the ability to significantly speed up the process of obtaining bonds by creating and submitting quotes online, anytime. The initial system release is for agents located in the states of CA, AZ, NV, OR and WA, with additional states and bonds scheduled for release throughout 2009.

“We understand the importance in the ease of doing business and believe that Capitol Express will be the simplest online surety bond system available. Our ultimate goal is to utilize this system for the processing of all small, transactional surety bonds throughout the United States,” said Rick Allen, President, Surety & Fidelity Operations.  To complement its simplicity, CapEx uses a dynamic automated underwriting system, which gives agents the processing and management reporting tools they need, when they need them, to write business with Capitol.

Gerald Perrone, Director of Surety Underwriting, states that “with CapEx, submitting new surety bond business is easier than ever and allows agents to service their surety business in a more efficient and cost-effective manner.” The system was also designed with an eye towards future growth - as subsequent releases occur, Capitol Express will have a larger array of bonds available for agents to issue at the click of a button. “This is the first step in an exciting journey for our agents and employees,” said Allen.
