High-performance storage company will demonstrate 140Gbps flash array at the NAB in Las Vegas April 8 – 11
LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — CacheIO, the high performance storage leader for intense media applications, today announced that it has qualified the Micron M500 960GB solid state drive (SSD) from Micron Technology, Inc. in its all flash array designed for media workflow applications. CacheIO will demonstrate the all flash array utilizing the Micron M500 960GB SSDs in a 4K film production environment at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) tradeshow in Las Vegas, April 6 – 11. The demonstration will be held in conjunction with 4K film application leaders including MTI Film (booth SL15510) and Digital Vision (Renaissance Hotel, the Chairman's room).
By incorporating the Micron M500 960GB SSDs, CacheIO can now scale its all flash array to 40 terabytes of usable SSD storage. This provides unprecedented economics and scale linearly across multiple arrays to tens of terabytes under one single file system. The CacheIO proprietary software preserves the performance and endurance of Micron M500 SSDs for more than 10 years. Each CacheIO flash array provides a blazing bandwidth of more than 140Gbps, enabling real-time streaming of up to nine concurrent uncompressed 4K streams, with no performance loss due to the fragmentation suffered by traditional hard disk-based systems. Its innovative compact design incorporates up to 18 x 8Gbps fibre channel ports which can be shared by many media production workstations under the management of Quantum's StorNext file system.
