In addition, Super Lawyers magazine singled her out for unique recognition in a special article focusing on Johnson as a "whole person," showcasing not only her extensive legal work but also her diverse and important interests outside of law.

Johnson has more than three decades of experience in employment law, commercial litigation, and product liability law. She has represented clients in and out of Texas, and her broad, deep background includes trial, arbitration, mediation, and appeals in both state and federal courts.

During her career, Johnson has focused on finding the most expedient and effective ways to resolve issues and on helping clients stay out of court altogether. She won praise for those efforts in the lengthy magazine profile, aptly titled "A Whole Person," that accompanied the announcement of her selection.

The feature noted that in law "Johnson considers herself a peacekeeper." It added, "She does her best to avoid litigation, preferring to foster long-term relationships with clients and urging them to call her with issues before things escalate." While she has successfully handled several high-stakes lawsuits, the article noted:

"She prefers to keep the variables at a minimum and maintain her client's control of a situation. It's a nip-in-the-bud approach."

In addition, the article also talked about Johnson's work for a local nonprofit, the Tahirih Justice Center, and her efforts on several levels in supporting her daughter, who has learning differences.

The reference to the "whole person" is the common ribbon running through Johnson's life, as her daughter taught her in many ways, including introducing Johnson to the subject of human trafficking. That introduction led her to the Tahirih Center – which protects immigrant women and girls from violence – and thanks to her advocacy, Johnson's colleagues in Texas Women Lawyers have joined her in financially and legally supporting the center.

Johnson's contributions and capabilities have not gone unnoticed by Managing Partner Rick Burleson, according to the magazine.

"I can't think of any more we could ask of her other than what she's doing," Burleson says. "As a friend and a colleague, I just think she's one of the best."
