LAWTON, Okla., April 7, 2009 — Teams are important to every aspect of any business or organization, and having an effective team directly impacts the ability to achieve your goals, as well as the bottom line. Whether for a political party, business, nonprofit organization or military unit, building an effective team enables you to build upon the potential of your organization’s members.
In “Building the Team” by Kenric Brooks Sr. (published by iUniverse), Brooks examines research into successful and unsuccessful teams, and presents his own experience and examples of team building. Included are the Army’s team-building model, ancient wisdom from the Bible, and the Brooks Productivity and Resource Model, a new concept that describes the flow of information and how it affects a team’s productivity. Readers will understand the importance of establishing a strong foundation and how to fortify that foundation to build a team that will continue to strive and progress. Explore how to build trust, establish good communication, and create value within the team — major elements necessary for successful collaboration, including flexibility, vision and goals, roles and responsibilities of members and the leader. Any organization that has a need for developing teams will benefit from this book.
