Bowie Baysox's Military Appreciation Night to be Attended by the Disabled Veterans National Foundation

DVNF veteran to throw first pitch at Baltimore Orioles minor league team game on August 14

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (www.dvnf.org), a non-profit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, has been asked to throw out the first pitch on Military Appreciation Night for the Bowie Baysox baseball team.

The Baltimore Orioles' AA minor league affiliate team, the Bowie Baysox, plan to host a Military Appreciation Night on August 14th to honor members of the Armed Forces, both past and present. The team will offer box and reserved seat game tickets for active service members and veterans of the Armed Forces for only $8 each at the box office window.

This will be the final of 5 Military Appreciation Nights for the Baysox this year. DVNF will be on site at the game and will have one of its veteran staff members throw out the first pitch. The organization is cautiously optimistic that she will be successful in getting the ball to the plate.

"This is a very fun promotion being offered by the Bowie Baysox," said Precilla Wilkewitz, President of DVNF. "Support for the United States Military at events all throughout the country is just another reminder of the respect and praise these men and women deserve."

The Baysox will take on the Erie Seawolves, the AA affiliate team of the Detroit Tigers. The game will begin at 7:05pm. Individual discounted Baysox tickets can be purchased at the box office. For group discounted tickets, please contact Sean Foy at (301) 464-4881 or Email. The stadium is located at 4101 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20716.
