3rd consecutive year of record holiday sales; total sales capped due to selling out of key sizes for Asha diamond simulants (or 'fake diamonds')
ISSAQUAH, Wash., Jan. 19, 2009 — BetterThanDiamond.com (http://BetterThanDiamond.com) today announced record holiday sales revenue for the month of December, posting its best-ever holiday sales season. Sales revenue climbed 7% versus the previous December, with total sales being capped due to selling out of a number of key sizes of its Asha diamond simulant. December sales were nonetheless its third consecutive year of record holiday sales.
"We closed out another record holiday sales season, again led by demand for our patent-pending Asha diamond simulant, as well as our lab-grown emeralds," said Less Wright, president of BetterThanDiamond.com. "The downside is that our sales were capped due to inventory selling out as a result of the higher than expected demand. This unfortunately resulted in us being unable to process a fair number of customer orders." As a result, BetterThanDiamond.com is now running its largest production run of Asha simulants to date in order to dramatically increase on-hand inventory. Further, BetterThanDiamond has announced that it will be hiring additional staff in order to assist with the planned inventory expansion.
"With the current economic downturn, customers are demanding a higher value for their jewelry dollar, and our patent-pending Asha simulant does just that – realistic diamond visual beauty at a fraction of natural diamond pricing," noted Mr. Wright.
