WASHINGTON, April 6, 2009 — Clear Standards, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise carbon management and sustainability solutions, announced today that Betsy S. Atkins has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of its Board of Directors effective April 1, 2009. Ms. Atkins succeeds co-founder Anirban Chakrabarti who will assume the role of President, Chief Operating Officer and Board member. Ms. Atkins’ background as an entrepreneur, co-founding Ascend Communications, a NASDAQ company that reached $5.4 B in revenue in nine years, and her renewable energy and technology experience as a board member at SunPower Corporation, make her uniquely suited to lead Clear Standards.

Ms. Atkins’ operational experience includes her role as former CEO of Key Supercomputer, focused on seismic analysis for the oil and gas industry and as CEO of NCI, a food manufacturer creating neutraceutical and functional food products. Ms. Atkins has a deep global and operational perspective encompassing the full range of experience from the explosive growth of startup companies to restructuring to meet the needs of today’s business environment. Ms. Atkins also has experience growing businesses both organically and through acquisition, managing development, marketing and operations and serving customers from diverse industries.
