Company collaborates with Danish Relief Council, Engineers Without Borders and leading experts at Copenhagen University to evaluate rapid rehousing solution for emergency situations
KOLDING, Denmark, Dec. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Bestnet A/S announced today that they are cooperating with the Danish Relief Council, Engineers Without Borders and leading experts at Copenhagen University, among others, to test the new Bestnet product, Lifeshelter®. Lifeshelter® is a rehousing solution that will eliminate the use of tent-houses that often ends up as waste. The solution is based on an innovative patent-pending concept that is ideal for rapid temporary rehousing in emergency situations, as well as being repurposed for permanent housing.
Lifeshelter® is a durable, modular, cost-effective and reusable rehousing solution that meets a wide variety of shelter needs. Utilizing advanced technology designed by Danish firm Evergreen Shelter and their investment partner Innovation Midwest, Bestnet entered into an agreement to be the worldwide distributor of Lifeshelter®.
The concept is characterized by being based on a well-insulated curved construction unit. The patent-pending concept is simple and suitable for a wide range of purposes. The self-supporting shelter is easy to erect, even without skilled labor, and does not require any special tools. Long term, the shelters can be disassembled, transported and re-utilized as the roof structure or as insulation in permanent dwellings.

Leading experts from Copenhagen University will perform monitoring and evaluation studies to measure the positive influence that providing such sturdy shelters has on the livelihoods and social behaviors of Lifeshelter® recipients.
