Wings Over North Georgia Company Profile
Aviation events are the passion of JLC AirShow Management. It is demonstrated by the premium air show events that JLC creates and produces. With numerous years of experience producing air shows and special events for the military, JLC’s inaugural 2012 “Wings Over North Georgia” air show featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds military jet demonstration team in Rome, GA was a huge success. As a result, the post show report was confirmed by the Rome Conventions & Visitors Bureau as the number one 2012 economic impact event in Rome-Floyd County and North Georgia. With a childhood love for airplanes & airshows, JLC Airshow Management is the vision of retired Chief Master Sergeant John Cowman who formed the company in 2011. Prior to his military retirement at Dobbins AFB, Chief Cowman served as the Air Force Reserve’s C-130H formal schoolhouse Loadmaster Superintendent managing the aircrew flying training programs for the Career Enlisted Aviator students attending. Throughout his career, the chief maintained worldwide mission-ready status accumulating over 5,000 hours in the C-130 Hercules. As the organization grew, he invited a few of his fellow retired Air Force comrades to become part of the company’s management team. The entire JLC AirShow Mgt. owners group are retired military veterans with a couple of hundred years of operational flying experience, management, air shows and event productions. The JLC team continues to make its mark in North Georgia and the North American Air Show industry. The mission of JLC Air Show Management is to assemble outstanding performers, competitors, aircraft, attractions and special guests from across our great nation into each community it touches. The paramount commitment of JLC is to provide a safe, affordable, exciting and patriotic family entertainment event. Whether you are a novice on aviation or a full-fledged enthusiast, the JLC produced events have numerous entertainment outlets. From a variety of food & beverages, BBQ Competition, kids zone, aviation products, exhibitors of varying types, military statics, war birds, general aviation aircraft to musical concerts. These events are fun-filled for each attending family member and guest. The North American air show industry and International Council Air Shows (ICAS) has met its share of recent government sequestration challenges in 2013. After losing the USAF Thunderbirds in Rome this fall due to the current DOD Sequestration directives; JLC remains committed to its aviation roots by concentrating on the vast civilian & war-bird aviation assets and utilizing avialable military assets for delivering a great family-friendly patriotic air show event. JLC AirShow Management has an agreement with Richard B. Russell Regional Airport and Floyd County to produce the annual Wings Over North Georgia air show event. JLC is always exploring new opportunities within the air show community. Current projects being developed by JLC include a new spring show location in the SE along with an air show series that will encompass the entire US with an outstanding group of Tier-1 performers, venues and family attractions. Our company vision and efforts continue by planning & producing quality air show events for generations to come…
