Austin-Based Technology Company Cecropia Solutions Partners with Arrayent to Create Smart Appliance Technology for Retailers

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Austin-based software developer Cecropia Solutions has announced a partnership with Arrayent, a technology company offering the market-leading software platform that lets manufacturers and retailers easily create Internet connections for household products, such as garage-door openers and refrigerators, and control them via smart phones. Cecropia, a 100-person company headquartered in Austin, Texas, with two development centers in Costa Rica, was previously selected by Arrayent to help build the Arrayent Connect Platform.

Cecropia co-founder Mike Canzoneri said, "We know the Arrayent platform better than anyone because we helped build it. We're positioned nicely to help our clients develop the software needed to connect their products to the Internet…a capability that many of our clients want in production right now."

Using the Arrayent Connect Platform, manufacturers are able to distinguish their products by giving customers unique value-added functionality, such as being able to use a smart phone to remotely turn off a sprinkler system, or to unlock a door to let a service person into the home. And the platform allows for the creation of technologies that are easy to use for end users, as products connect and work right out of the box.

Companies such as Whirlpool, First Alert, and Liftmaster are engineering capabilities into their products to leverage the Arrayent Connect Platform, allowing millions of consumers worldwide to benefit from the age of the smart appliance.

Cecropia also recently launched a new brand and new web site, CecropiaSolutions.com, which pays homage to its ties with technology talent in Costa Rica.
