NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF), www.amcf.org, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2014 Carl S. Sloane Award. Now in its fourteenth year, The Carl S. Sloane Award for Excellence is awarded by the AMCF Board of Directors to a living person who has contributed substantially to the development of the consulting profession, either through leadership, the development of intellectual capital, innovation in consulting processes, value added to clients served, or a combination of the above.

The 2014 Carl S. Sloane Award will be presented to W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne, co-directors of the INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute, for their innovative thinking and fresh perspectives that have redefined the traditional approaches to strategy consulting. The authors of the worldwide bestselling strategy book, Blue Ocean Strategy: How to Create Uncontested Market Space and Make the Competition Irrelevant, has been published in a record-breaking 43 languages and sold over 3.5 million copies. "AMCF is thrilled to honor the contributions of Mr. Kim and Ms. Mauborgne as the 2014 recipients of the Carl S. Sloane Award.  Their leading edge thinking energized the industry and continues to challenge the paradigm of conventional strategy development," said Richard Hulme, CEO of AMCF.

W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne will receive the Carl S. Sloane Award and deliver the keynote address at the AMCF's Global Leadership Forum on March 27, 2014 at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
