SARASOTA, Fla., Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The 72 Hours to Key West Charity Bike Ride will take place Friday, November 1st to Sunday, November 3rd. Over 100 riders will embark on this three-day, 280-mile bike fest departing from Ft. Myers Beach and traveling south to their final destination, Southernmost Point, Key West. Riders will experience the lush tropical Florida landscape, the Miccosukee Native-American Reserve and crossing the pristine waters of the Florida Keys over the breathtaking bridge spans including the famous Seven-Mile Bridge. Upon arrival in Key West, riders celebrate with a victory toast and team photo. Along the way riders are supported by volunteers who provide water, snacks and lunch. SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles travel with the group and carry supplies, first-aid and extra equipment for emergencies. Accommodations and special rates have been reserved. Proceeds from the ride will benefit Rod Khleif's Tiny Hands Foundation's annual Basket Brigade. This event has provided a free traditional holiday meal to over 15,000 children and families during the holidays since its inception 11 years ago. The Basket Brigade supports single-parent households with children and delivers beautifully decorated holiday meal baskets, along with toys and books with a simple quote: "This is from someone that loves you."
