AIDS Novel – a Chilling Reality

NEW YORK, Jan. 23, 2007 — Author L. Guy Burton hopes to stir intense public interest with his latest novel "Come Die With Me."

Amanda, the main character of the book, a well-educated young woman of mixed racial blood, has tired of being an exotic club dancer and has begun a new career as a chiropractor and licensed masseuse. Having been infected with the AIDS virus by her boyfriend, who has since died from the disease, she overcomes her trepidation to embark on a vengeful mission to "get even with men" for their lustful pursuits. Believing she will soon die, she is driven to take with her as many as come willingly, despite strong protests from her good friend and business partner, Deleesa.

"Come Die With Me" was published by PublishAmerica in November 2006.

Burton notes, "AIDS continues to be a deadly serious epidemic in our society and throughout the world. Unfortunately, some have become too complacent and consequently less circumspect about the dangers posed to those who treat indiscriminate sex as a recreational pastime."
