The former playmate launches eco-friendly lifestyle magazine Envi-image.com
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2008 — Actress, model, writer and philanthropist Carrie Stevens has launched a new green lifestyle magazine entitled Envi-image.com. The magazine is a perfect fit for Ms. Stevens, who combines her passion for the camera, journalism experience, entertainment industry contacts and innate desire to make the world a better place in this new venture.
Envi-image.com provides in-depth coverage of the green lifestyle, showcasing the latest in environmentally friendly apparel, jewelry, make-up, and hair and skincare products.
Renowned fashion photographer Steven May has worked closely with Ms. Stevens to convey a “Vogue meets Daily Candy” format that combines the best of high-end publishing house glamour and practical information.
The premiere issue, which has been launched today, features Playmates Angel Boris, Daphne Duplaix, Kona Carmack, Rhonda Adamss, Spencer Scott, Vanessa Gleason and Nicole Narain in the hottest new organic, recyclable styles. (Don’t buy polyester – it comes from polymer, a toxic pollutant).
In making the announcement of the new publication Ms. Stevens said, “You don’t have to sacrifice your sex appeal to be eco-friendly – if a product is good for the planet, it is good for you and your appearance.”
Envi-image.com’s mission is to make everyone a bit more environmentally conscious. “You don’t have to make radical lifestyle changes in order to contribute to a healthier planet,” added Stevens.
Ms. Stevens was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up on a dead-end dirt road in Hardwick, Massachusetts. Her family composted and grew their own organic fruits and vegetables, and even milked goats to make goat cheese and ate eggs fresh from the chicken coop. Ms. Stevens studied journalism at Memphis State University before she headed west to Los Angeles. She has been enjoying many years of landing dream job gigs on hit TV shows, in major motion pictures and appearing in major magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Allure, and of course Playboy. In recent years, Carrie revisited her writing skills as a columnist for Hot Moms Club Magazine where she reached millions of readers.
Ms. Stevens has been featured on the big screen and small co-starring with Emmy winners Charlie Sheen and Jennifer Aniston and Oscar winner Hillary Swank. She also appeared in “Rock Star” with Mark Whalberg. She has starred in independent films opposite exciting celebrities such as John Taylor (Duran Duran, Marked for Murder) and Don “The Dragon” Wilson (Redemption). She has guest starred on many television shows including “Two and a Half Men,” “Beverly Hills 90210″ and “Days of Our Lives.” She has hosted three one-hour shows for E!, including “Playmates of the 1970′s.”
