Albert Reed Continues Meteoric Rise in Modeling Industry
NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2004 — Cosmopolitan magazine has selected Abercrombie & Fitch catalog cover model Albert Reed (http://www.albertreed.net) as its December "Guy Without His Shirt." Appearing in the magazine with a full-page photo and bio, Reed is billed as December’s "half-naked hunk."
The Cosmo feature is the latest chapter in the meteoric career of the 19-year old model, who recently signed with IMG, a firm cited by MODELS.com as the #1 New York agency representing models. Cosmo, with a circulation of 2.86 million copies according to the magazine’s publisher Hearst (http://www.hearst.com/magazines/), further heightens Reed’s visibility in the world of high fashion, glamor, and celebrity.
Reed also currently can be seen featured in a video on Abercrombie & Fitch’s website (http://www.abercrombie.com/anf/lifestyles/html/afexclusive.html).
Recognized for his boy-next-door good looks, youthful vitality, and all-American outdoor sportsmanship - and known as the model who "lives to surf," Reed has appeared in a number of other magazines, including Cosmo Girl and Seventeen, and in advertisements for Reebok, NIKE, Neiman Marcus, and Ray-Ban. Reed’s image on the Abercrombie & Fitch catalog cover has appeared as an ad in such publications as Rolling Stone, GQ, Teen Vogue, and the premiere issue of VITALS.
Reed’s Cosmo debut marks a departure from being almost exclusively identified with high-profile brand names to being recognized as a model in his own right. One market that is increasingly recognizing Albert Reed the individual is the college audience. Earlier this week, Reed kicked off an ad campaign targeted at seven newspapers on college campuses on both coasts and in the Midwest. These newspapers reach a combined total of as many as 200,000 students per day.
Reed also is a singer/songwriter currently recording a CD planned for launch with a major American company.
