24 x 4 Matrix Relay Joins PXI Switching Card Line

NEW BERLIN, Wis., July 27, 2004 — High density and a small form factor mark the latest PXI switch card offering from Digalog Systems Inc. of New Berlin, WI. The 24 x 4 Matrix Relay Card (part number 0000-6624) puts a 24-channel by 4-bus matrix into a compact 3U PXI slot, making it ideal for resource-intensive test applications.

Three different software-controlled modes let the 6624 serve distinct roles in a given test configuration. In "Normal" mode, any relay can connect to or disconnect from any bus at any time. In "Break-Before-Make" mode, any change to the existing connection states causes all relays to open for a software-programmable break time before the new connection states are made. "Mux" mode configures the card into three banks of eight channels and forces the card into "break-before-make" mode so that only one channel of a bank can be connected to a given bus at one time.

The standard instrumentation-grade relays employed on the 6624 can withstand 150V DC or peak AC voltage and are rated for 1A maximum current. Software provided with the card allows all channels to be controlled with functional calls through standard programming languages, either manually or by means of a 256-state pre-programmed scan list. Software and a variety of hardware trigger sources may be used to advance the list.

The 0000-6624 24×4 Matrix Relay Card can be ordered from Digalog’s PXI website at . Further information is available on the site or by contacting Rick Wagner at 262-797-8000.
