Pros(R) Named Channel Innovator of the Year - Storage CategorySAN DIEGO, May 8, 2008 -- Business Solutions Magazine has announced its Channel Innovator of the Year awards, naming The I.T. Pros(R) as winner of the Storage Category. The award recognizes solution providers that have made significant contributions to their customers' technology and business success using IT hardware, software, and services. Channel Innovators are selected based on their creativity and success when solving their customer's complex technology issues.The award was based upon an innovative solution architected by The I.T. Pros(R)' Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Fugro Pelagos, one of the company's largest storage partners. "Being recognized as an Innovator of the Year by Business Solutions Magazine is a huge win for our growing storage division and directly in line with our company's core values," said Doug Ford, President and CEO of The I.T. Pros(R). Ford continued, "Disk-based storage is one of the hottest trends in the data center space and it's only going to get hotter. Pros(R) was chosen out of hundreds of applicants in the fourth annual contest offered by the magazine. According to Seth Georgion of Fugro Pelagos, an offshore engineering firm, the solution addresses various top-level needs and still managed to be cost-effective and fit within their existing infrastructure: "We were facing a data explosion fueled by many new projects plus larger data sets being produced by our increasingly sophisticated data collection equipment. We were also recognizing a need to have the data in a nearline storage configuration as opposed to archival. NetApp emerged as the storage fabric that could achieve all of our goals." The Channel Innovator Awards were awarded to VARs in several technology categories, including content management, managed services, network security, POS (point of sale), storage, supply chain, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), and wireless.
