User-Generated Video Trivia Game Launches on Looneytunes.com
Fans Can Test Their Knowledge of Classic Looney Tunes
Characters in a Rich Media Environment
REDWOOD CITY and BURBANK, Calif., June 20, 2007 -- Warner
Bros. Advanced Digital Services and Bunchball today
announced the launch of a new online trivia game that is
partially created by the fans who play it. "Looney Tunes
presents The Ultimate Cartoon Trivia Challenge" is a
user-generated trivia game that features beloved Looney
Tunes characters, including Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote and
the Road Runner, and can be found online at
http://looneytunes.warnerbros.com/games/bunchballtrivia.html.
This multiplayer trivia experience was developed by
Bunchball, a provider of online community games, and is one
of Warner Bros. Advanced Digital Services' first online
casual games to incorporate the use of rich media. Fans
playing the game can test their knowledge of the adored
cartoons and submit questions about their favorite
character. Submitted questions are reviewed and rated by
other community members on a scale from poor to excellent.
The highest-ranking questions make it into the game and are
played by the community at large.
"Looney Tunes presents The Ultimate Cartoon Trivia
Challenge" allows for up to eight people to compete at the
same time and demonstrate their knowledge of that wily
rabbit and his friends, as well as other favorite Warner
Bros. Animation properties, including The Flintstones, The
Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and more. Questions are asked in
multiple-choice format; some include embedded video from
cartoons, reconnecting players with these classic moments.
The person who answers the most questions accurately wins.
"Looneytunes.com has long been a gathering place for people
who love to learn about and explore the world of the Looney
Tunes characters," said Sam Ades, director of brand
strategy, Warner Bros. Advanced Digital Services. "With the
new Bunchball game, we are giving fans another innovative
opportunity to interact with each other and their favorite
characters."
"Bunchball has built a solid library of popular casual games
that can be customized to fit with any brand," said Rajat
Paharia, founder and CEO of Bunchball. "The classic Looney
Tunes brand fits perfectly with our user-generated trivia
game, and the ability to incorporate video into the gameplay
was an exciting test of our customization and flexibility
that allows us to easily utilize existing brand materials."
The Bunchball-powered Looney Tunes game is available online
beginning today. Questions and inquiries about the game can
be directed to gene@bunchball.com.
