NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2005 -- Cracked Entertainment, Inc.
announced today that humorist Jay Pinkerton has joined as a
Consultant to CRACKED.com (http://www.cracked.com).
Pinkerton joins CRACKED from the National Lampoon.
Speaking from the CRACKED's Worldwide Headquarters high
above New York's Park Avenue, Publisher and CEO Monty Sarhan
announced the appointment.
"Besides being exceptionally funny, Jay is a talented writer
and editor who has helped establish several online comedy
sites," said Sarhan. "His following on the Internet speaks
volumes about his talent and he's going to be a tremendous
asset to CRACKED."
Pinkerton's work has appeared online on NationalLampoon.com,
McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Modern Humorist,
CollegeHumor.com and numerous other sites. He has also had
his humor writing published in print, including in Jest
Magazine, McSweeney's Best Non-Required Reading 2003,
National Lampoon's Big Book of Love and the upcoming
CollegeHumor Guide to College.
As a consultant, Pinkerton worked with the National Lampoon
and helped to substantially improve their website, increase
their traffic and establish them as one of the Internet's
leading comedy sites.
Updated daily, CRACKED.com already boasts thousands of
visitors a day and features links, videos and comics from
all over the web as well as the writing of CRACKED's regular
writers and contributors, including staff editors Jack
O'Brien and Justin Droms, author Neal Pollack, the editors
of YankeePotRoast.org and popular blogger Alex Blagg. The
site just re-launched this past October and its recent ESPN
parody was extremely well-received and garnered a great deal
of national publicity.
"I'm very excited to be working with CRACKED," said
Pinkerton. "I plan on helping them to execute their vision
online and to become a leading source for comedy on the
Internet."
The all-new CRACKED Magazine is set to hit newsstands in
