Identity Theft Prevention System Completes Primary System
Certification Process
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 3, 2005 -- Mantissa Corporation has
completed primary system certification for iDovos(TM), a
consumer service that prevents identity theft by providing
flexible personal control of identity use by the individual.
IDovos takes a completely different approach to solving the
problems associated with identity theft. Current systems
permit individuals to obtain periodic credit reports or be
advised when new credit is obtained in their name. Such
systems cannot actually prevent initial identity theft.
iDovos, in addition to being able to prevent identity theft
and misuse, is capable of delivering immediate notification
for all transactions and other identity account activity.
Individuals establish iDovos accounts and set limits on
identity use through a web browser, PDA, or telephone.
Credit and debit transaction authorization processors and
credit reporting agencies receive identity state information
from iDovos prior to processing a transaction. They use that
state information to determine the limits imposed by the
identity owner. When the owner has prohibited identity use,
transactions are prohibited.
Identity use criteria may be added, removed, or changed at
any time. iDovos protection is not limited to credit or
debit transactions. "New credit" applications, brokerage
accounts, passports and drivers licenses are examples of
other identity assets that may be protected.
Validation of software components, middle tier component
integration and initial database transaction tuning were
central goals of the primary system certification process.
Because iDovos must be capable of applying millions of
identity state changes within seconds, I/O bandwidth and the
ability of the database engine to support parallel
operations have been key considerations in database and
operating systems software selection. The next stage of
certification, beginning October 17th, 2005, will focus on
integration of system components used to relay identity
state changes to state users. Availability of the service,
initially scheduled for first quarter, 2006, is still on
target for that delivery time frame.
Mantissa, with over 25 years experience in datacenter
management software development, has offices in Birmingham,
Alabama and Luton, UK. Affiliates are located in Japan,
South Korea, Singapore, South Africa and Norway. Mantissa is
now selecting business partners and subscriber agents for
iDovos(TM).
