International Distributors Choose NetEqualizer for its
Automated Bandwidth Control; Security and VoIP QoS
Capabilities
LAFAYETTE, Colo., Feb. 14, 2005 -- APconnections, a supplier
of plug-and-play bandwidth shaping products, announced today
that International distributors targeting service providers,
systems integrators and resellers focused on the
small-to-medium-sized (SME) business market have signed on
to distribute its NetEqualizer product family. Distributors
have been signed in Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, and
in South East Asia. With these distribution agreements,
resellers, systems integrators and service providers
throughout EMEA now have access to the entire NetEqualizer
product family.
The distributors include Ati-Kos, based in Kosovo; Eye-Sec
Distribution located in Utrecht, the Netherlands; Grupo
Antea of Madrid, Spain; IT/D, headquartered in Budapest,
Hungary; Netmedia, located in Helsinki, Finland; Optimal
Network Distribution, headquartered in Centurion, South
Africa; and, Stream Networks, headquartered in Singapore.
"These distribution agreements with some of the premier
providers throughout EMEA and South East Asia are validation
of NetEqualizer's unique approach to solving the traffic
control quandary faced by most organizations," said Rob
Krol, vice president, EMEA sales, at APconnections.
The recently signed distributors have selected NetEqualizer
primarily for its ability to deliver automated bandwidth
control. Other features that have driven adoption include
the enhancement of security offerings with the ability to
block and control p2p traffic and unique quality of service
(QoS) capabilities that enable distributors to include
NetEqualizer as part of a service provider VoIP package.
"We've looked at the alternatives and decided that
NetEqualizer offers our service provider, reseller and
system integrator partners the best option for bandwidth
control and quality of service," said Len Coetzer general
manager, at Optimal Network Distribution. "No other product
offered the combination of automated bandwidth control,
enhanced p2p content filtering for added security and
cost-effectiveness. NetEqualizer is changing the bandwidth
control landscape."
"Our reseller and system integrator partners throughout the
Benelux region are looking for security and networking
infrastructure products that both add value in the network
and are cost-effective," said Rob van de Weijer, Sales
Director, at Eye-Sec Distribution. "NetEqualizer's built-in
traffic shaping rules take the complexity out of delivering
quality of service and make true quality of service and
bandwidth control available for a large market segment. In
addition, its ability to block and control p2p traffic
enhances our existing security offerings."
"NetEqualizer adds tremendous value to our broadband and
wireless internetworking portfolio," said Hassim Selahudin,
general manager at Stream Networks. "It gives our partners
throughout South East Asia the only truly automated solution
for traffic control and for ensuring quality of service for
VoIP."
About NetEqualizer
NetEqualizer is a plug-and-play networking appliance that
delivers automated bandwidth control based on built-in
fairness rules. NetEqualizer makes control decisions
dynamically, prioritizing and shifting bandwidth between
applications and connections as network usage rises and
falls. During times of peak congestion, NetEqualizer
apportions more bandwidth for latency-sensitive applications
such as VoIP and business-class applications, including CRM
and ERM, while still enabling non-critical data traffic such
as large file downloads to traverse the network. This
approach ensures user satisfaction and allows APconnections'
customers to reduce both bandwidth and operational expenses.
Unlike the alternatives, NetEqualizer installs in minutes
and does not require the user to build and manage extensive
policy libraries. The products seamlessly integrate with
existing network infrastructure and do not require router
upgrades or other network changes.
In addition, NetEqualizer supports recognition, protection
and quality guarantees for vendor-specific VoIP applications
(VSVA). VSVA goes beyond merely identifying generic VoIP
protocols such as SIP, H323 and RTP and allows NetEqualizer
to recognize specific VoIP applications from third-party
vendors and assures Net Equalizer customers that
latency-sensitive VoIP traffic will not be impacted by
bandwidth-intensive data traffic. Vendors currently
recognized include Avaya, Cisco Systems, Nortel Networks,
Siemens, Mitel Networks, Tenovis, Alcatel, NEC, Inter-Tel,
Toshiba, 3Com, Shore Tel, Vertical Networks, Ericsson, EADS
Telecom, Philips Business Communications and Aastra
Technologies.
