Hammerstone Institutional Forum Hits 100-Investor Milestone
NEW YORK, Feb. 9, 2005 -- Just a year after its official
launch, the Hammerstone Institutional Forum (HIF,
http://www.thehammerstone.com/hs_hif.html), a private system
allowing institutional investors to share news, proprietary
technical levels of the market, ideas and commentary on a
real-time basis, has hit the 100th institutional subscriber
mark.
"It's a great day for us here," stated Jamie Lissette,
founder of The Hammerstone Group and moderator of the HIF.
"In one year we have made this forum an integral part of
over 100 institutional investors' information flow and have
continued to provide up-to-the-minute news and index alerts
for our dedicated client base."
When The Hammerstone Group launched the HIF a year ago, the
forum consisted of news and investment alerts broadcast on a
popular instant messenger program. The group quickly outgrew
that format and migrated to its current platform,
Communicator Inc.'s Hub Connex(SM) business connectivity
suite. Today the HIF sits active on each subscriber's
desktop, allowing members to immediately and securely notify
the rest of the forum whenever they receive upgrade or
downgrade information, explain individual stock movements
they notice throughout the day, and answer each other's
questions. Lissette filters and broadcasts consolidated
versions of information he receives from news feeds and from
the investment community. Via the forum, Lissette also
broadcasts The Hammerstone Group's proprietary technical
levels of the market indexes to the members, which have
developed their own following as well.
"The most valuable function of the forum is the ability for
the trader to see what is really happening in the market,
without all the noise," explained Lissette. "Rarely does the
market or an individual stock make a big move without me or
someone in the forum alerting the other members of the move,
usually followed by an explanation. We are almost always as
fast as, and definitely smarter than, the news wires,
especially CNBC."
In the beginning, Lissette expected the HIF to eventually
have 100 members, but the forum quickly grew beyond his
firm's initial projections. That's mainly due to
word-of-mouth among traders, said Lissette. And therein lies
part of the HIF's strength - the high quality of its
members. All subscribers are pre-qualified by Lissette and
pay a monthly fee. This is no chat for day traders; rather,
it is a group of successful institutional investors, each
identified by his or her full name and firm.
Though the HIF continues to grow, it remains a close,
supportive group, said Lissette. "The great thing about the
HIF is that everybody gets to know each other and really do
their best to help each other out," he said. "I don't expect
that to change, no matter how many subscribers we add."
