TV and Film Audiences Benefit
STUDIO CITY, Calif., Dec. 14, 2004 -- Opus 1 Music Library
has launched the revolutionary DMA (Digital Music Assistant)
music search and delivery system. The new 2.1 version of DMA
provides a high tech alternative to using cumbersome CDs to
audition and export broadcast quality music for TV, film,
and multimedia projects.
Those embracing the new technology include television shows
such as CSI, American Dreams, The Sopranos, The West Wing,
and King of the Hill. Film credits for the company include
Big Fish, 13 Going on 30, Austin Powers 3, and the trailer
for Touchstone Pictures The Last Shot, starring Alec
Baldwin, and Matthew Broderick. The new 2.1 DMA system is
also currently being utilized by Warner Brothers Television,
The U.S. Olympic Committee and Granada USA, in addition to
over two hundred companies.
The DMA is a one-of-a-kind digitized innovation in the world
of music library technology, enabling users to research and
download over 40,000 broadcast quality music cues via
keyword searches including style, genre, instrumentation,
mood, tempo, length, and multi-category searches. Powered by
the o1engine, the DMA offers users the opportunity to
utilize the entire music library, not just the familiar
overused tracks.
The innovative DMA saves music supervisors, editors, and
engineers valuable time by organizing projects, keeping
track of music used, creating spotting and editing notes,
and cue sheets with print capability, and is compatible with
standard editing/computer systems. It allows twenty-four
hours access to the library, with the ability to drop titles
directly into projects and has an exclusive feature that
reads EDL's (edit decision list).
Hollywood TV and film composer and President of Opus 1 Music
Library, Alan Ett states, "The DMA launched us into a new
age of music delivery, management, and licensing, solving
the problems inherent in library music use. Music selection
and delivery is as easy as a few computer mouse clicks,
eliminating the need to hunt down and load CDs."
Since 1988, Opus 1 has quickly become the fastest growing,
most comprehensive music library in the world. The
company is affiliated with: Media City Sound, a full-service
post production/sound facility in the heart of Studio City
offering audio post, sound design, Foley, adr, and 5.1
mixing, as well as The Alan Ett Music Group, offering
original scoring, music production, editing and music
supervision, and The Alan Ett Creative Group.
