During a recent ISO/IEC17025 accreditation assessment Level 3 Inspection achieved 100% compliance with the standard. Level 3 Inspection calculated a measurement uncertainty of +/- 2 microns (+/- 0.000078 inches) across all ranges. Testing demonstrated proficiency, using a process developed by L3I. Test results showed all operators to be proficient within the stated uncertainty.

L3I’s Chief Operating Officer Scott McAfee indicated the purpose for securing this advanced accreditation was to provide independence process and exceptional performance proof, stating, “Implementing the elements of ISO/IEC 17025 in our process proves our ability to collect and analyze 3D scan data in a meticulous way, supporting both our professional service operations and our automated systems capabilities to meet our clients’ needs. Accreditation validates our laboratory methods to the international standard, which gives our customers confidence in our ability to accurately inspect their parts using state-of-the-art, Computer Aided Inspection from very-high-accuracy 3D scanning.”

“2013 is already our best services and systems business year ever, and this ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation will allow us to expand our market faster and further,” highlighted L3I’s Chief Executive Officer, Bill Greene, adding, “We know we are selling speed of layout turnaround as well as time to market with precision manufacturing process optimization. This performance accreditation gives us an added level of performance and even-greater confidence with our clients, which makes it easier for customers to let us help them with our advanced capabilities.

L3I’s accreditation assessment was performed by ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ACLASS). “As a former metrology laboratory owner for over 20 years, I was very highly impressed with the diligence Level 3 Inspection has applied to achieve such exceptional Proficiency Testing performance,” stated ACLASS Assessor Mike Weisrock. “Additionally, they have established their certifications and accreditations as their operation methods, not just reference documents. They are using these processes, procedures, and systems to continuously improve their technical capabilities and business operations,” added Weisrock.

L3I’s preparation and training for ISO/IEC 17025 assessment was partially funded by an Incumbent Worker Training grant from the State of Florida. The team at the Business Development Board of Martin County (BDBMC) was a strong L3I supporter and process expeditor, providing connections and assistance in the grant application process. “Helping our leading technology companies increase their global business revenues, so they can increase their local employment, is one of our BDB main missions,” said Tim Dougher, BDBMC’s Director. “This is a great business performance capability accomplishment, which we are proud to have been a part of, and we strive to do more to help our community,” Dougher added.
